8. Portfolios

Learning Portfolios have proved to be extremely useful when developing both knowledge and communication competences AND the “learning to learn” competence itself.

To able to learn autonomously and to monitor one’s own learning is vital for IC learning. Also, assessing the students by their portfolios has become a recurrent practice in many academic institutions. Therefore in the context of the Project INTERMAR includes a Learning Portfolio to be used by each student.

The analysis of the Learning Portfolios produced during the piloting phase has provided a large amount of extra information about the modules, the structure of the course and the learning process of each student.
